England Win Women’s World Cup 2017

England Women Team win the 2017 World Cup by beating India by 9 runs after a thrilling contest. This World Cup was the best competitive women cricket ever. England batting first scored 228 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. NR Sciver scored quick 51 runs and wicket keeper SJ Taylor scored 45 runs. From Indian bowling Goswami took 3 wickets for 23 runs in 10 overs.

In chase India were on course until late collapse meant India were at a distance to glory. They were 140/3 in 33 overs with 89 runs required in 17 overs. Shrubsole ripe through tailend to keep India all out at 219. The critical turning point was Indian Captain Mithali Raj runout and after that their super batsman H Kaur.

England Women’s team won the World Cup for the 3rd time. They first won in 1993 beating New Zealand, 2009 again beating New Zealand and now in 2017 beat India. Only Australia has won more than that with 5 titles. It was India’s first World Cup final.
