Sarfraz Ahmed Appointed As Test Captain

Sarfraz Ahmed has been appointed Pakistan test captain after stunning performance in champions trophy taking a inexperienced team to victory.

Its first time after 2012 when a captain is appointed in all 3 formats so Sarfraz Ahmed will lead in all 3 formats. Misbah ul Haq was the last captain to hold all 3 positions when he resigned from captaincy of T20 team in 2012.

Sarfraz Ahmed latest performance and how he led the team, it was evident that he will take over Misbah Ul Haq as test captain. It would be a great task for him to follow Misbah steps who is one of most successful test captain in International cricket winning 26 matches out of 52 while drawing most of others.

PCB states that Sarfraz is ideal for captaincy as he has gained lots of respect and trust from his team mates even senior ones. Selection committee is trying to replace more senior players with juniors as champion trophy victory was mostly due to new debutante while senior players did not meet any expectations.

It would be harder task for Sarfraz Ahmed to keep test winning tempo of Pakistan in absense of Younis Khan and Misbah Ul Haq the backbone of Pakistan middle order for many years.
