Out for disciplinary issues and poor form umar akmal is back again in Pakistan’s much changed T20 squad. He will be a permanent fixture in upcoming West Indies T20 series starting from September 23 in Dubai. Chief selector Inzamam ul Haq had said that umar akmal has been chosen in Pakistan T20 squad because of his impressive form in National T20 Cup.
Umar Akmal has scored at an average of 70+ in National T20 Cup again strong sides. He scored a hundred and two fifties and single handed win the matches for his team. Umar akmal last played international T20 match against Australia on March 20, 2016. His last ODI campaign was back in 2015 and not considered yet for ODI inclusion.
Some sources also indicated that selection committee was forced for this change however PCB spokesperson reject any such claim saying that he is only selected for his form in National T20 cup. Other inclusions in the T20 team are Rumman Raees and Saad Nasim. Amad Butt is left out without featuring in the only T20 against England this month.
